Luke has been a film fan since first seeing Jurassic Park at the Odeon in Ipswich, UK back in ’93. The Odeon is gone but the doughy-eyed sense of idealism remains.

We are all standing on the shoulders of giants. And Gary Kurtz was a giant. He worked with George Lucas on American Graffiti, one of the greatest films ever made. And then he worked on Star Wars – one of the other greatest films ever made.

He helped to define the Force, he helped to manage the deals that meant George got to do business the way he wanted to.

We remember his wonderful legacy on this podcast. And yes, the Wheelers from Walter Murch’s Return to Oz get a mention.
