Luke has been a film fan since first seeing Jurassic Park at the Odeon in Ipswich, UK back in ’93. The Odeon is gone but the doughy-eyed sense of idealism remains.

Thirty years old this year, The ‘Burbs casts a fresh-faced Tom Hanks, post-Splash, post-Big and at the peak of his comedic prowess, as inert suburbanite Ray Peterson. Increasingly concerned that the new family in the cul-de-sac might just be a trio of murderers, he and his neighbours embark on a madcap investigation that will dig deep into the depths of suburban paranoia.
